In English | Film criticism plays a key role in the recognition of cinematic works — but it is not immune to conscious or unconscious biases that shape which films are seen, valued, and discussed. Marking the centenary of FIPRESCI, this roundtable will examine the blind spots of film criticism, open a dialogue on its mechanisms of exclusion and legitimization, and explore what’s needed to build a more inclusive, diverse, and self-aware critical culture.
