When will the Festival be held?

The festival returns to its regular format. Each documentary in the program will be shown twice in theatres, from November 20th to 30th, 2025.

Forum RIDM will be held from Nov. 21st to Nov. 26th.

What films are part of the Official Competition?

Please visit the Juries and Awards page for all the information on the films selected for our official competition. 

 

Are there any free activities?

Free activities open to the public will be held during the Festival, including:

  • Various Round Tables and Discussions with filmakers; 
  • Nightly activities at the RIDM bar at la Cinémathèque;
  • Radio Canada's La soirée de la relève on Nov 21;
  • UX Doc will present various VR works in the lobby of la Cinematheque, at the Music Studio of Centre Pierre-Péladeau and at la Place Des Arts' Exposition space;
  • A "Beer & Cameras" walk from St-Louis Square on Nov 23
  • Two "Carte Blanche" film screenings and concerts (with Bibi CLub on Nov 25m and PyPy on Nov 27;
  • and more!

ACCREDITATIONS AND PASSES

Si on vous a offert un passeport / accréditation, vous devrez obligatoirement venir récupérer votre badge, disponible dès le mercredi 19 novembre à 16h au Bureau des accréditations et de l'accueil des invité.e.s situé au deuxième étage de la Cinémathèque québécoise (335, Boul. de Maisonneuve E, H2X 1K1, Montréal, QC). 

Our Guest Services & Accreditations desk will be open during the following opening hours:

  • Novembre 19: 4pm tp 7pm
  • Novembre 20: Noon to 4pm

  • November 21-22-23: Noon to 7pm

  • Novembre 24: 8am to 7pm

  • November 25-26-27: Noon to 7pm

  • November 28-29-30: OFFICE CLOSED

     

TICKETING

A ticket office is located in each room and always opens 1 hour before the first session of the day and closes 30 minutes after the beginning of the last session.

How do I buy tickets for the festival?

You may purchase tickets for the festival directly on our website, using a credit card (debit cards are not accepted). We strongly recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance. You can find tickets directly on the film cards by going to the schedule or to the films from A to Z.

During the festival, in addition to online sales, box offices will be located in theatres and will open one hour before the first screening in that theatre and close 30 minutes after the start of the last screening.

We do not sell tickets by phone.

What is the refund policy?

No exchanges or refunds. All items are final sale and non-exchangeable.

Are there passports for the festival this year?

Yes, to view the details of this item and to purchase it, go to the ticketing page.

Can I share my passport with a friend?

No, the passport is personal and non-transferable. A photo will be requested at the moment of purchase as proof of identiy / to put in your pass.

I bought a passport, do I have to exchange it for $0 tickets for every movie I want to see?

No. There are no further booking steps to take once the passport has been purchased.  Simply show up at the cinema in advance of the screening, as a limited number of seats are reserved for passport and accreditation holders.

I would like to purchase a 6-ticket package, but I'm not sure how it works.

The 6-ticket package is in fact a code that can be used 6 times to reserve the screening or screnings of your choice. Once purchased, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you containning this code. You can use it to reserve up to 6 tickets to diffrent or  the same screening, and can be used by you and your firends.  We recommend that you select and redeem your code as early as possible in order to garantee your seat at the screening.

Please note: The following screenings are not available to 6-ticket package holders:

  • The Opening Film screening at Monument-National on Nov. 20th;
  • The Nov. 25th and 26th screenings at Cinéma Public.

 

I bought 6-ticket package. Can I go directly to the screening room and use it?

No. The 6 ticket package is a promotional code that must be redeemed for real tickets in advance in order to gain access. For information visit the Ticketing page.

I bought a 6-ticket package; do I have to redeem all 6 codes at the same time?

No, you can redeem it once, twice, three, four, five or even 6 times. The only restriction of the promotional code is that it is only valid 6 times for the regular screenings.

 

I'd like to attend the familly Activity with my kids. How does it work?

Each Familly Activity ticket gives access to one adult and up to three children under 12 years of age. These activities will take place at Cinémathèque québécoise at 10AM on Sunday Nov. 23rd and 30th.

 

 

ACCESSIBILITY

Cinémathèque québécoise: Accessible to all. Screening rooms are accessible via an elevator, and offer reserved seating for wheelchair users and their companions at the back of the room. There is an accessible washroom to the left of Norman-McLaren room, as well as near the Fernand-Seguin screenign room.

 

Cinéma du Musée: The cinema has spaces for wheelchairs at the back of the room. Three parking spaces are reserved for identified vehicules on Avenue du Musée.

 

Cinéma du Parc: All three rooms have spaces for wheelchairs, both at the back and front of the room. The entrance reserved for people with reduced mobility is located at 3590 Jeanne-Mance Street.

 

Cinéplex Odeon Quartier Latin: The cinemas are accessible to people with reduced mobility and also to wheelchair users via an elevator. Wheelchair spaces are available at the back of each screening room.

 

Grande Bibliothèque, Auditorium : The audiotorium is accessible to people with reduced mobility. There are 3 spaces for wheelchairs on each mezzanine, for a total of 6 places. The mezzanines are at the same level as the main entrance. Accessible washrooms are available near the main entrance of the auditorium.

 

Cinéma Public : The venue is accessible to people with reduced mobility and also to wheelchair users. The screening room is accessible via an elevator.There is one seat reserved for a wheelchair in the screening room.  We invite you to contact info@cinemapublic.ca / 514-272-1040 when purchasing your ticket.

 

Monument-National, Salle ludger-Duvernay :The venue is accessible to people with reduced mobility and also to wheelchair users. The screening room is accessible via an elevator and has 4 wheelchair-reserved spaces. There is an accessible bathroom on the main floor.

 

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

The RIDM and Forum RIDM are committed to presenting and reflecting on the most diverse and stimulating visions of documentary cinema. The two organizations provide spaces for discussion, learning and debate, in a spirit of respect, inclusiveness and empathy.

The RIDM and Forum RIDM reserve the right to withdraw the accreditation or access to our online platforms from anyone who engages in harassment, discrimination, intimidation, violence or related behaviours. They also reserve the right to deny access to their venues and events and to remove the discriminatory messages from our social networks without notice or refund.
