The eccentric Hermeto Pascoal defies all labels. The so-called “Sorcerer” of sounds earned his nickname due to the significant influence nature had on his compositions, use of unusual instruments, and legendary inventiveness.
The Water Eyed Boy is an ambitious portrait that captures the unique world of the recently deceased Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist with remarkable finesse. This film is true visual poetry. It adopts an approach as experimental as the protagonist, plunging us into his childhood and the visual and auditory landscapes of inland Brazil that profoundly shaped his imagination and creative process.
